Tree Aging

We operate Canada’s only private commercial tree aging lab. We take high-resolution images of tree cores and use a computer processing algorithm to pull more data and insights from tree aging samples than ever before.

This allows us to determine:

  • The average age of the forest area;

  • The years in which drought or fire occurred;

  • The climate conditions of the area; and

  • Wood fibre quality.

Across the board, our clients have received increased tree aging accuracy as a direct result of our implementation of our innovative technology. Furthermore, through our digital integration across our departments, we’re able to easily create reports and share them with our clients for their operational planning needs.

Our process is highly repeatable, transparent, and verifiable – unlike traditional methods that often produce inaccurate and irreplicable results. All high-resolution images of the tree cores that we create can be provided to a third-party verifier as part of the carbon audit process or the forest certification process.
