Private Land Forest Carbon

We assist landowners and Indigenous communities interested in participating in voluntary forest carbon markets across North America. 

Landowners and communities can participate in voluntary forest carbon markets by:

  • Setting aside forested area that would be harvested if it was not enrolled in a carbon market; 

  • Choosing to implement improved forest management, such as select harvesting or pre-commercial thinning; or 

  • Harvesting a small amount of timber, while managing the remainder of the forested lands for conservation values. 

Through our assistance, landowners and communities develop management plans that maximize their revenue streams and gain access to new markets – all while continuing to meet their landscape management priorities.
